Biography

Vincenzo Cascio is born 10 November 1839 and baptized the next day. He is the only known child of Angelo Cascio and Carmela Cammarata. His godparents are Liborio and Gaetana d'Anna, brother and sister.

By 1845, Vincenzo's mother has died and his father has remarried.

Vincenzo marries Maria Giuseppa Liazza, on 9 April 1866.

Vincenzo's father, Angelo, dies at age 61 on 5 August 1867.

Vincenzo and his wife have at least ten children: Carmelo (1867), four sons named Angelo (1869, 1871, c. 1879, and 1885), Giovanna (1873), Maria Concetta (c. 1881), Carmela (c. 1883), Antonino Angelo (1888), and Marco (1891).

All four sons named Angelo are known to die in infancy.

Carmelo dies at ten months of age.

Maria Concetta is known only from the record of her death, at two years of age (b. 1881) on 30 July 1883.

Carmela, born about three months later, dies at two years and two months of age (b. October 1883) on 31 December 1885.

Marco is born and baptized 19 July 1891.[1]

Giovanna dies at 22 years of age (b. 1873) on 9 December 1895 at around 1:15 pm. Her parents survive her. This record does not say whether Giovanna has ever married.

Vincenzo dies the following December at age 57 (b. 10 Nov 1839), on 23 December 1896. He is survived by his wife, Maria Giuseppa.
